Guwahati Comprehensive Cleft Care Centre participated in 1st Global Exhibition in Services

The Operation Smile Guwahati Comprehensive Cleft Care Centre participated in the prestigious 1st Global Exhibition on Services held in Pragati Maidan from April 23-25, 2015. Organised by the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), the exhibition  strived to showcase the best of services available in India with the

objective of promoting export of these services to other countries of the world. The sectors in focus were Health, Education, Logistics, Tourism, IT and Infrastructure.

 

 

The Exhibition was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi in presence of the Minister of Commerce and Industry Ms Nirmala Sethuraman. Sixty-four countries either sent their delegates to the GES or had participants who largely showcased their tourism sector.

A 6’X 4 ‘ standee proclaimed ‘ GC4- the Largest Comprehensive Cleft Care in the World in  a  PPP Mode’. Besides there were flex banners on OSI which were printed and put up and hand-outs which was available for all visitors.

The visitors were an interesting mix of people from the Indian Health industry and abroad. Some sowed great eagerness to speak to Kiran, a patient who travelled with the team to Delhi to be part of the exhibition. Operation Smile had treated Kiran for cleft lip and palate in 2010. There was one standee which had two pictures of Kiran– one before her surgery and one in the hospital as she looks at herself after her surgery.

Chief Minister of Assam, Shri Tarun Gogoi visited the exhibition on the last day. Principal Secretary of Health Shri Sanjeeva Kumar. Mission Director Dr P Ashok Babu, Commissioner of Tourism Shri Ashutosh Agnihotri- were among many senior administrators who were present in the exhibition.
