Her Excellency- Smt. Mridula Sinha, Hon’ble Governor of Goa inaugurated the 1st International Mission of Mission Smile in Goa, in partnership with Muthoot Pappachan Foundation on November 12th 2017 at the Manipal Hospitals, Dona Paula, Goa.
The inauguration ceremony took place in presence of Dr. Prasanthkumar Nellickal, Head CSR Muthoot Pappachan Foundation, the CSR arm of Muthoot Fincorp Ltd, Mr. Rameshkumar G, Vice President and State Head Muthoot Fincorp Ltd., Col. Shivaji Samaddar (Retd.) COO Mission Smile, Dalip Pande, Director Partnerships, Mission Smile and Mr. Girish Babu Bommakanti, Unit Head of Manipal Hospitals Goa, Head Manipal Hospitals.
Her Excellency Smt. Mridula Sinha was extremely appreciative and happy with the voluntary work being done in support of the deserving cleft patients from Goa, Konkan and Maharashtra. Smt. Sinha, aptly said that philanthropy, sharing and giving back to the community and needy sections of society is an age old tradition in our country and is something which comes with compassion and from the heart of the giver. She further mentioned that the kind of satisfaction and happiness the volunteers would experience when they see the new smiles on the faces of the children after their corrective surgeries is something priceless.
Giving the gift of smile to the children and their families is indeed a wonderful effort of all those who have extended their helping hands for the cause. She also acknowledged the volunteers who have come from Malaysia, Singapore, China and various parts of our country to selflessly devote their time and skills for the needy patients of the region in the Goa Mission.
In a heart touching gesture, she invited the patients to visit her at the Raj Bhavan after receiving their surgeries, and wished to witness them returning back to their homes happily. In conclusion, Her Excellency Smt. Mridula Sinha conveyed her blessings and good wishes to all the people involved in this noble cause for a successful Mission in Goa.
So far in the Goa Mission, we have screened 53 patients and restored 14 smiles from Goa and Konkan Coast. We look forward to bring even more smiles in the remaining days of the mission (12-16 Nov). Keep following our blog for more updates from our 1st International Mission in Goa.
