It is with great honour we announce the results of the Mission at Karnataka, India that took place from January 23 – 27, 2017. This was our 1st Mission in partnership with Muthoot Pappachan Foundation at ESIC Medical College & Hospital and overall the 3rd Mission in Karnataka. A team of 50 volunteers, consisting of volunteers across India & Germany, along with ESIC Medical College & Hospital-Gulbarga team, Student Volunteers from ESIC Medical College and Non-medical volunteers from Muthoot Fincorp Ltd., Karnataka had screened 178 patients, performed 90 Surgeries during 4 surgical days and received 83% (75) post-op turn out on the day of one week follow-up.
We had the inaugural ceremony of this mission on January 23, 2017 in presence of Honourable Member of Parliament-Gulbarga & Leader of Opposition, 16th Lok Sabha, Dr. Mallikarjun Kharge, Honourable Minister of Medical Education, Govt. of Karnataka, Shri Sharan Prakash Patil, Dr. M. R. Chandrasekhar, Dean, ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Col. Shivaji Samaddar (Retd), COO, Mission Smile, Shri Venkataraman R, State Head, Muthoot Fincorp Ltd., Karnataka, Dr. Prasanth Kumar Nellickal, CSR Head, Muthoot Pappachan Foundation, Shri Dalip Pande, Director Partnerships of Mission Smile, and many well wishers of Mission Smile from govt. and non-govt. entities & dear volunteers of the Mission.
