Our 3 Year successful partnership with Muthoot Pappachan Foundation (CSR wing of Muthoot Fincorp) crossed the milestone of 1500 + Safe Comprehensive Corrective Surgeries. Eventually, this was in our 2018 mission in Puducherry. In fact, the flagship ‘Smile, Please’ initiative of the foundation brought the ‘Gift of Smile’ to over 1500+ Cleft affected children and adults in India.
The initiative started in October 2014. Thereafter, it has successfully provided surgeries to children and adults born with cleft lip and cleft palate surgeries in 11 states in India. Actually, this partnership is a testimony of a corporate belief in transforming and making the changes it wants to see in society. So, we are grateful to the foundation for impacting 1500+ children and adults’ lives.
Adhisaya, 3.5 years old and the only child of Jayaraaj and Deepa, was the 1500th patient of this partnership. She and her parents travelled for more than 160 km from the small village of Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu. Thus they reached our mission venue in Puducherry.
Adhisaya received the surgery from our Surgical Team Leader Dr Sakthivel, with Dr Gautam Sarkar & Dr Basavaraj as Anaesthetist. She got the operation on her cleft lip on 27th February 2018. The surgery was successful, and she recuperated fast.
We are thankful to our volunteer team for providing these life-changing surgeries to children like Adhisaya.
Being the 1500th child of our partnership with the Muthoot Pappachan Foundation, she will always be special. We wish her to become the best she can.
